“As a family business, we regard fairness and a family atmosphere as a matter of course. Each and every employee is important to us. Every opinion matters. Being able to rely on each other is the strongest form of motivation.”

Heinrich Gropper

Our milestones for the people of the region

The family business Gropper has developed from a small dairy into a successful medium-sized enterprise

Today
Over 1,000 people work at Gropper and Moers Frischeprodukte, 250 of whom have done so for 10 or more years

Corporate social responsibility (CSR): sustainable actions across all three pillars

Our corporate responsibility with regard to the three pillars of ecological, economic and social sustainability is something we take very seriously. This is not only evident in relation to organic quality, animal welfare and climate neutrality, but also in our role as an important employer: through the way we treat people, whether the farmers who supply us, our employees or the people in the region.

Values are important to us as an employer

As a family business, we maintain close relations with our staff and treat them as equals. Only satisfied and healthy employees have the energy and motivation to drive the company’s sustainable development. At Gropper, the culture of sustainability therefore also includes flexible working hours, comprehensive health care and mutual respect. This is also reflected in the low number of sick days per employee and an average of seven years of company service. We want to share our expertise and use it to create future prospects – for the entire region. As such, we consistently train our specialists. This is yet another form of sustainability.

What are Gropper’s values?

We are a partner for farmers

We know where our milk comes from and maintain strong, long-term relationships with our milk suppliers, most of whom are located within a 50 kilometre radius of us. We keep our farmers constantly abreast of developments at the dairy – including by talking to them directly and in person. We support them with training courses and our supplier consultants are more than happy to assist them on site with questions about milking hygiene, feeding and other matters. Over the years, we have developed numerous firm partnerships, which are reflected in the high quality of the milk.

Certified coffee and cocoa

Our speciality coffee and cocoa products exclusively use beans from Rainforest-Alliance-certified farms. This helps ensure social, economic and environmental sustainability aspects such as fair living and working conditions or the protection of natural resources and biodiversity.

Commitment to the region

As a key employer for the region, we take responsibility and implement our CSR obligations within our immediate vicinity. We support charitable organisations and regional initiatives with monetary and in-kind donations or through voluntary work. We have a partnership with Bissingen secondary school based on a Chamber of Industry and Commerce scheme and support an SOS Children’s Village.
